TITLE: STOREKEEPER (2 Positions)

DEPARTMENT: R&D WAREHOUSE

WORK HOURS: 8.0 hours per day – 40 hours per work week

CONTRACT LENGTH: 246 days

SALARY: Maintenance & Operations Salary Schedule ($21,634-37,375)

SUMMARY

To store and distribute a wide variety of supplies and equipment and maintain records of all capital equipment for the District.

 

Storekeeper I:  This is the entry level class in the Storekeeper series.  This class is distinguished from the Storekeeper II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the series including receiving request for items, checking request for conformance with procedures and using mechanized moving equipment since this c lass is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience.

 

Storekeeper II:  This is a full journey level class within the Storekeeper series.  Employees within this class are distinguished from the Storekeeper I  by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned including using judgment and resourcefulness in tailoring the existing guidelines so they can be applied to particular circumstances and to deal with emergencies.  Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and re fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.  Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are operating procedures and policies of the work unit.  Position in this class flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level, or when filled from the outside, have prior experience. 

 

Knowledge of:

Basic guidelines for stocking of goods and materials.

Basic office and warehouse procedures, methods and equipment.

English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuations.

Mathematical principles.

Office and warehouse procedures, methods and equipment.

District policies and procedures.

Basic computer skills needed (email, MS Word, Excel and similar programs)

 

Experience and Training Guidelines:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

 

Experience:  Two years of warehouse experience including experience working with the public.

High School Diploma required
