DATA ENTRY ASSISTANT

RE-ADVERTISEMENT 

 

TITLE: Data Entry Assistant

CLASSIFICATION: Secretarial

DEPARTMENT: Business Services

WORK HOURS: 8.0 hours per day – 40 hours per work week

CONTRACT LENGTH: 246 days

SALARY: Student Support Secretary Salary Schedule Level 4

To perform data entries in support of assigned Business Services function; to develop and input data into required progrmas; to assist and provide data information; and to assist in all data entry activities

Qualification Requirements

To illustrate the minimum requirements of the job.  The evaluation for this position will demonstrate the employee's ability to meet or exceed the minimum requirements of the job.

Experience:  Some clerical and/or data experience, additional experience with customer service and/or training in spreadsheet based computer programs is desired. 

Education:  Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following: 

  1. Maintain student demographics database, other related databases or programs by entering data and necessary codes from source documents, backing up related databases and updating user accounts
  2. Prepares necessary reports and documents related to Student Teacher Accountability Reporting System (STARS)
  3. Prepares, review and sorts documents; identifies and interprets data to be entered; compiles, sorts and verifies accuracy of data to be entered; retention and archiving of received data and source documents
  4. Contacts secretaries to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data on source documents; makes necessary corrections to information entered in all related programs to ensure integrity of data
  5. Reviews error reports, enters corrections, updates databases with corrected data and verifies corrected data entry is accurate to ensure data integrity
  6. Responds to inquiries regarding data, including providing support to staff on data entry
  7. Responds to internal and external records requests related to STARS data
  8. Complies and distributes necessary communication documents for distribution
  9. Other duties as assigned
